Methodology / worked examples
SiteStory guide
Build a handoff around what a client can verify: who, where, when, what changed, and which image proves it.
Use a consistent visit record
Enter the job identity and date first. Keep the work summary factual and include a clear next action whenever the status is Follow-up needed.
Example: "Replaced the worn supply line and tested for leaks. Monitor the cabinet floor for 24 hours."
Keep cost assumptions visible
Labor cost is hours times the planning rate. Materials and travel stay separate so a customer or manager can question one line without losing the whole estimate.
Estimated total = hours × labor rate + materials + travel + optional estimated tax
Sequence photo evidence
Add photos in a useful story order, then caption what each image proves. The report preview and print action use the order shown here.
- Use a wide context image first.
- Caption defects, measurements, or completed work.
- Review images for sensitive information before sharing.
Limits and assumptions
- Images are held in memory in the current browser tab and are never uploaded by this tool.
- The cost result is a planning estimate, not an invoice, tax decision, or payment record.
- Photo metadata such as EXIF location is not inspected or removed by this tool. Review images before sharing.
